OMG! Seriously folks, this is about as good as it gets for Decca Sounds, as this incredible, truly stunning Limited-Edition 53 CD Box Set of acclaimed ffrr recordings from the Mono era is now all together in one happy place.

Indeed, also included in this brilliant, quiet remarkable collection is Ansermet's 1949 recording of Petrouchka (which was actually published in 1949 as Decca's first LP), along with some of the finest performances in the Decca catalog.

You want an introduction? OK, well, with Decca's pioneering research and development in recording techniques - ffrr or full frequency range recordings - was born.

The musical emphasis in this Limited Edition set is on instrumental and orchestral music and includes landmark recordings, any of which have not been available since their original LP releases.

In simply terms, The Decca Sound: The Mono Years is a generous, and plentiful treasure trove for everyone who loves the history of recorded sounded to enjoy. Some of the Conductors included are: Ernest Ansermet, Georg Solti, Erich Kleiber, Adrian Boult, Anthony Collins and Hans Knappertsbusch. Some of the Orchestras included are: Paris Conservatoire Orchestra, L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra and many more. Some of the Soloists included are: pianists Clifford Curzon, Julius Katchen, Friedrich Gulda and Moura Lypmany; violinists Ruggiero Ricci and Alfredo Campoli and cellists Zara Nelsova and Pierre Fournier. And some of the Chamber Ensembles included are: Quartetto Italiano, Griller Quartet, Trio Di Trieste, Quintetto Chigiano and Wiener Oktett.
