Overview: Set during the final days of the Second Temple period, the film chronicles the events leading up to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE.

As the Roman Empire tightens its grip on Judea, political infighting, religious extremism, and personal rivalries fracture the Jewish resistance from within.

Through the perspectives of several historical figures, the story reveals how internal division proved as destructive as the Roman siege itself.

DVD Verdict: Created using over a thousand hand-painted images, the film presents this pivotal chapter in history through a striking visual style that blends historical drama with graphic-novel storytelling.

The English-language version features the voices of Oscar Isaac (Dune), Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man), Billy Zane (Titanic), Elliott Gould (Ocean’s Eleven), and Marilu Henner (Taxi).

In what is a simply AMAZING movie, among the best movies I have seen in the past decade, I would hasten to add, the film showcases complex characters in a complex world through the visually crafted eye of a medium that I have never seen the likes of ever before.

The hero of the film is not really a hero, maybe the villain. You see how a person enters an extreme side in the conflict and acts in the way he believes. Not everyone dares to create a story where the hero is the one who created the problem.

So well done for the courage shown there. In addition, the paintings of the film are artistic. There is no doubt that this is the best Israeli film released so far in decades, in my humble opinion.

Again, as I cannot stress this enough, Legend of Destruction is a truly excellent film. It honors history and it is a pleasure to see the beautifully painted images merging seamlessly within one another. Not dull or boring for even one second, nor does it fall on cliches, it is the kind of history film that was missing from our lives; but that we are more than happy to have now welcomed in.
