Title - 'Letters to Maria'
Artist - Willie Hines

The Willie Hines Band (WHB) began as a vehicle for Willie Hines to continue to make music.

After Jet Red dissolved, Willie began to discovery more music that needed to be heard.

Teaming with several area musicians, the Willie Hines Band was formed. The WHB released Whatever in 2014 and has continued to lay markers down for his sound throughout the industry.

With WHB making music for those who still respect the fact that "real people make real music," Hines has now brought out a wonderful new album, entitled Letters to Maria (out now via IAC Records).

1. '(I'm Not Waiting For The) Heartbreak' (3:39)
2. 'Little Tin Cup' (3:39)
3. 'This Is Our Love' (4:34)
4. 'Standing At The Altar' (3:56)
5. 'Don’t Let Go' (3:09)
6. 'Let's Not Waste Time' (2:52)
7. 'In The End' (4:48)
8. 'On Fire' (3:35)
9. 'Waiting For A Miracle' (4:46)
10. 'The Tenth Letter' (2:50)

“Everything I’ve ever written has been on acoustic guitar or piano, and this time around they followed me into the studio,” Hines freely admits, and so here on Letters to Maria we lose the crunchy guitars, big drums and even bigger vocals for a more stripped down musical vulnerability of songs to be heard.

He opens with the country-fied '(I'm Not Waiting for the) Heartbreak' and backs that up seamlessly with the mid-tempo 'Little Tin Cup' and the stirring ballad 'This Is Our Love.'

The storytelling heartbreak of 'Standing at the Altar' (something I can personally attest to, lyrically, sadly!), is up next and is followed by the gentle pop hipsway of 'Don't Let Go' and then the fun bounce of 'Let's Not Waste Time.'

The heartfelt 'In the End' is then backed by the jaunty melodies of 'On Fire,' with the spiritual essence of 'Waiting for a Miracle' along next.

The album then, sadly, rounds out with the stirring 'The Tenth Letter,' but if you are anything like me when you hear a great, fresh new album, you hit Play and listen to it all over again.
