'Shark Tale'
(Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Renée Zellweger, Angelina Jolie / PG / 84 mins / Dreamworks)

Overview: In this undersea CGI flick, Robert De Niro plays Don Lino, a mob shark who's looking to expand his operation. When one of his sons is killed by an errant anchor, a young punk named Oscar (Will Smith), disgruntled with his job at a day spa and car wash for whales, claims responsibility and is hailed as a hero.

Verdict: The kiddies will giggle today, just don't expect this fishy tale stay fresh for too long! In truth, the characters are underdeveloped even for 2-D players and the narrative and characterization departments flounder. That said, 'Shark Tale' can be found to be overly jokey but often quite entertaining, sprightly, even perhaps funny, but in the end never comes together into a convincing enterprise.
