'Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed'
(Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini / PG / 90 mins / Warner Bros.)

Overview: This time around, the gang will be trying to stop a sinister villain from trying to conquer the city of Coolsville and make it very much uncool.

Verdict: As we all well know, critics the world over absolutely hated the first 'Scooby-Doo' live-action flick, ... but kids loved it and their parents shelled out more than $150 million for them to see an hour and a half of poop jokes and drug-related double-entendres! What a strange world we live in, don't you agree?! And so, what about this movie? Can the sequel be any more inspiring that the original, or is it simply just another unleashed mess? Well, all ye owners of Mystery Machines (read: minivans and SUVs) as the second Scooby saga, 'Monsters Unleashed' hits screens with the original cast you'll just think that you never left the theatre from the last time out! The film is a complete cookie-cutter version of the first one, complete with OTT CGI ghosts, ultra colorful clothes and sets and those all-important fart and drug-related double-entendres! Which means that the kids will love it all over again and that the cash registers will be ringing off the counters! This time out, the gang heads to Coolsville and finds that an anonymous bad guy has invented a contraption that spits out monsters. With a nosy reporter (played by the always-talentless Alicia Silverstone) demanding answers, the gang has to get clue-hunting, and fast. So, see it if it's your cup of tea, avoid it if it's the kind of flick that will annoy you, but above all know that it will top the box office charts one way or the other ... regardless!
