Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore

'Keeping the Faith and Love Alive'

Not since the great duets of Ashford and Simpson or Billy Preston and Syreeta, has a couple come forth with a moving double album. Their latest album, Uncovered/Covered is musical journey into their love for one another and their faith. Both Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore, husband and wife, express their love for one another in this double album.

The new album, combine original material and cover tunes to great love songs. They also sing solo on a few tracks. Their previous album, "Things That Lovers Do," garnered then the respect of the Music Industry and caught the publics's attention.

Now, with their double album release, Uncovered/Covered proves to be a hit; produced by legendary Producer, Barry Eastman, the album is a musical journey into their love for one another and their never ending faith in God.

Congratulations on the new release. Would you describe it as a concept album or a symbolic one? Chante - "It is a symbolic album of our love for one another and our love of God and our Spirituality. Who we were unfolded in our vocals, both solo and duet. We were glad to do a Gospel album. It's an album of love and integrity."

In contrast with your previous album, "Things That Lovers Do," how does this album define the roles between husband and wife? Chante - "For us, it is auto-biographical. It's about keeping mutual respect and faith in the Lord. It also gives one time to pause and reflect, more so like self-examination. That was what we aspired to convey in this album."

Backed by legendary Producer, Barry Eastmond, what were the recording sessions like? Chante - "It was great! We had live instruments. The singing alone was a delight. It took us 18 months to get the double album done. We are very pleased with the results."

In the song "Love Ballad," the opening intro was provided by noted Atlanta based poet, Spynx. How were you able to get him and his spoken word poetry on several tracks? It speaks volumes Kenny - "'Uncovered' had four interludes of spoken word, before we decided to make it a double album. We tapered it down."

"Make Me Like the Moon," was a very lavish track. It had great lyrical content. What was the deciding factor for a double album? Kenny - "It was all in the timing. We are very excited with the finished double album. We are simply thrilled to do a Gospel album together. It's an extension of ourselves musically."

Out of all the cover tunes on the double album, which one is the most meaningful? I simply adored the re-make of the Sade song, "No Ordinary Love." Chante - "I liked the duets, I also enjoyed signing the solo songs. Most of all, I enjoyed doing the song, "Love Ballad."

You both did solo songs and duets on the double album. That's quite a combination. Tell us about the solo songs Chante - "We both didn't want to abandon out solo careers. We sang about who were and how we felt at the moment; the connection between our relationships. Singing inhibited, I felt the my faith in the Lord. It was praising him through our music."

Was this double album a labor of love? You both put a lot of love, hear and soul into it Chante - "Absolutely! It was energizing. It renewed our faith in the industry and being away from home to record this album, helped us to strengthen the bond between us."

Kenny, you were recently honored at Howard's University, your Alma Mater. How did that feel? "It was amazing! I majored in Music there while I was a student and to be honored with other high caliber artists such as Debbie Allen was a thrill and a honor. I felt very humbled."

Any plans for an upcoming tour? Kenny - "We are in the process of working on a 20 city major tour of the States before the end of the year. Our album will be released internationally at the end of October."
