Miley Cyrus on Being Hospitalized!

Miley Cyrus is finally speaking out for the first time since she was released from the hospital after a severe allergic reaction. The pop singer was hospitalized in Kansas City, Missouri and was forced to postpone the rest of her U.S. tour. The 21-year-old called in to "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" on Monday and opened up about what happened.

"I had gotten sick when I was out on the road … everyone has had this ongoing cough thing, I had gotten some medicine," Miley explained. "I was on this medicine for five days, everything was all good, on the sixth day, I just woke up … it was so scary. When you're allergic to something you are literally just poisoning yourself."

Miley tweeted the official statement from her hospital bed stating, "She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin." The 21-year-old further explained why she had the reaction to the drug in the first place.

"Me and my mom are both allergic to penicillin, this isn't penicillin but it is in the same drug class, so sometimes people who are allergic to penicillin, they can have a reaction to this thing," she continued. "I just have never taken it before, this is usually an alternative to penicillin ... it was really crazy, I woke up on the bus and I couldn't breathe and my skin, my everything was going insane."

While the "We Can't Stop" singer was getting better in the hospital, one of the hardest parts for her was that she couldn't be performing on stage and had to cancel her Bangerz tour. She said, "I was begging the doctors to let me out just to do the show, and there was basically no way, I never thought I would get stuck in there as long as I did."

We're happy to see that Miley is feeling better and that she's resting up at home so she can resume her tour.
