'American Zombieland'
(Dave Mussen, Kristen Renton, Sondra Currie, Thomas Calabro, et al / DVD / NR / 2020 / ITN - Mill Creek Entertainment)

Overview: In a sleepy town, one man, a wannabe horror film director is about to have his life and the world he knows change forever.

Finally, he gets the big break he has been waiting a lifetime for, but its not Hollywood knocking on his door.

DVD Verdict: Trust me, this ain't your typical Walking Dead episode! Far from it, for when a zombie outbreak happens in his town, budding filmmaker Sam (Mussen) manages to convince some of the survivors to make a zombie film using REAL zombies!

But, the thing is, here in 'American Zombieland' the zombies (who don't wear anything close to Walking Dead "make-up" and which can, at times, come across as badly painted, drunk clowns) move really quickly, for some strange not-zombie-like reason!

Nevertheless, in order to do this safely, he wants slow-moving, and predominantly fat zombies, but as you can well imagine here in this quite deliciously fun B-movie, well, things don't exactly go according to plan!

Chock full of hat tips to the media, liberals, rednecks and hillbilly's alike, for me, and given the times we are currently living in, one of the truest culture reveals we get is when during the outbreak the film switches back and forth between the Red news station and the Blue; each with their own quickly moving scroll that is, well, two completely different sides of the outbreak coin!

Don't miss 'American Zombieland,' because not only does it feature some classic zombie chasing, catching, fighting moments, but the script has some quite brilliant one-liner's strewn within it also! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.

'American Zombieland' (DVD) is out February 18th, 2020 via Mill Creek Entertainment.
