'The Great War' [Blu-ray+Digital)
(Bates Wilder, Ron Perlman, Billy Zane, Edgar Damatian, et al / Blu-ray + Digital / R / 2020 / LGF)

Overview: During the final days of World War I, a regiment of daring African-American “Buffalo Soldiers” is trapped deep behind enemy lines.

After one of these soldiers manages to escape, he’s ordered to join a select team of white troops, led by a battle-scarred officer, to find and rescue the survivors.

Casting aside their racial differences, the determined men join forces to find their lost comrades in this gripping, action-filled tale of bravery and unity.

Blu-ray Verdict: From someone who has felt, fear of the unknown, loneliness and loyalty amongst brothers, 'The Great War' is spot on perfect, in my humble opinion.

Furthermore, this is a fantastic film to watch after seeing men from different creeds, cultures and such bond together for each other in dangerous times only those that have experienced conflicts will encounter.

'The Great War' is about humans and how they feel in fear and becoming brothers which makes it the real deal. Having already been compared to '1917' this is an absolutely great stand alone movie.

It shows a different point of view of World War I that the majority of people will never really know or dare to comprehend.

I applaud the filmmakers of this movie for it also has a great cast, great stories and excellent cinematography and so to produce something on this budget deserves some major accolades in my book.

In closing, if you don't like the "N" word, don't watch it! That said, this is how it always was until recent times. This is certainly better than most movies these days.

It is full of realistic good action and has all well acted script. Many black American's fought valiantly in every American war. Then they came home to the same racism and got no recognition for their valor.

'The Great War' is a mighty fine example of how African Americans have contributed to our freedom by fighting courageously in battle. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
