Overview: This HBO series follows the trials faced by six teams of teenage poets as they test their skills at Washington D.C.'s National Poetry Slam championship. Assembled from cities around the country, these teams feature a diverse group of young voices that speak to the struggles of a nation.

DVD Verdict: OK, I have just watched all 7 episodes and have to say that just to hear these young people from all across the country spill their guts on these various topics affecting their lives is/was amazing. This was an awesome series and I hope that all the youths who missed the series are able to get the DVD set.

Indeed, don't be put off by the language, study this and learn from the youth of this country. This is the way it is in the minds of the youth, probably brought on by us their perents. Hopefully these kids and others will remember their own youth to pass something better on to their own kids, like we didn't. Or does it just have to be this way with every generation.

So often we see the youth of America portrayed negatively. These young poets are definitely role models for other kids. A must see for all, not just youths. This is a Widescreen presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs
