'If You're Gone'
(Masey McLain, Desiree Ross, Ben Davies, Burgess Jenkins, Oscar Mansky, et al / DVD / NR / 2019 / Mill Creek Entertainment)

Overview: When high school senior Brad Lee disappears the night of his graduation ceremony, his girlfriend is forced to question everything she thought she knew about him and their relationship, as well as her own faith, in hopes of finding him.

DVD Verdict: I have to first say that I absolutely LOVED the book and was so excited to hear it was being made into a film! And now that it is here for review, on DVD, well, my evening last night was complete.

For those worrying, 'If You’re Gone' is a nice clean movie, appropriate for adults and teens alike.

Within the story told, there are many questions surrounding the disappearance of Brad Lee. I appreciated the way the viewer was slowly allowed to learn bits and pieces about Brad and what he might have been involved in as a younger teen.

Indeed, there are plenty of twists in this movie and I definitely did not see the ending coming!

The faith elements are just right and any viewers not interested in the Christian aspect won't feel beat over the head with the messages, lease know that up front.

Sure, there are moments it feels a bit slow, but when it was done I felt myself wanting to watch it again (and therein I learnt some new things that I didn't pick up on the first time around).

In closing, as a mother, I appreciate movies that are safe for the whole family to watch together and thus I am very happy to report that 'If You're Gone' was just that. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
