'We'll Meet Again - Season 2'
(Ann Curry / 2-Disc DVD / NR / 2019 / PBS)

Overview: Join Ann Curry for the second season in a series featuring dramatic reunions of people whose lives crossed at pivotal moments. View history through their eyes and hear stories of heroism, hope and the forging of unbreakable bonds.

DVD Verdict: For those not in the know, Ann Curry is an American television personality, journalist, and photojournalist. Curry has been a reporter for more than 30 years, focused on human suffering in war zones and natural disasters.

Directed by Luc Tremoulet, Ashok Prasad, Adam Perkins, Holly Moy, Rachel Tracy, produced by Page Shepherd, and hosted by Ann Curry, 'We'll Meet Again' continues on from its wondrous, and highly praised first season that features dramatic reunions of people whose lives crossed at pivotal moments.

Saved In Vietnam: Meet two Vietnam veterans searching for the heroes who saves them five decades before.

Surviving The Holocaust: Join Ann as two Holocaust survivors search for those who gave them hope in their darkest days.

Great Alaskan Earthquake: Two Alaskans try to track down childhood friends who also survived the catastrophe 1964 earthquake.

Korean War Brothers in Arms: Ann meets two Korean War veterans looking for fellow servicemen from nearly 70 years ago.

Escape From Cuba: Follow two men as they search for the people who helped them arrive and settle in the U.S. when they fled Castro's Cuba.

The Fight For Women's Rights: Join two women as they search for friends and colleagues who forged a path for equal rights.

In my humble opinion, everything that they pull together for these groups of people are always done in good taste. Indeed, and without giving too much away, there were several stories combined in the series and the transition from each story to the next was handled very well.

However, stand outs for me personally are the opening duo of Saved In Vietnam and Surviving The Holocaust. My goodness, aside from the historical anguish that goes along hand in hand with what these titles conjure up as images, the fact that out of them we have people still today searching for the bright lights they discovered within them AMAZES me.

So, grab the tissue boxes, hunker down into your pockets for your hankies, as 'We'll Meet Again - Season 2' will, once again, assuredly make your tears flow! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
