'PJ Masks - Butterfly Brigade'
(DVD / NR / 2019 / eOne - 20th Century Fox)

Overview: Join our trio of heroes: Catboy, Owlette & Gekko, on their nighttime adventures as they work together to stop the baddies, and save the day!

DVD Verdict: From the off, you should know that I am happy to say I am a fan of the super-hero cartoon and when my son and daughter (aged 2 and 4 years respectively) starting watching the PJ Masks, I was rather moved, it has to be said.

They LOVE Cat-Boy and Gekko and at the beginning once told me that I could be their Owelette (although that changed over time, as you'll read below).

PJ Masks is a really cute crime fighting trio that deals with everyday challenges of working together with others.

This show encourages teamwork and teaches sportsmanship. PJ Masks also display that children get caught up in there own interests, but when teamwork is required to fight crime they come together.

Here in 'PJ Masks: Butterfly Brigade' (and other adventures), we join the aforementioned Catboy, Owlette and Geko on Zoo Day!

Once at the zoo and Connor cannot wait to see the lions and tigers. However, Amaya and Greg are planning to see the butterflies first, feeding them flowers during their visit.

Of course, Connor is not interested, because he claims that all butterflies do is just flap and fly around, while lions and tigers are much more interesting with their physical features and amazing actions.

Amaya and Greg do not budge at this and continue to walk over to the butterfly gardens, declaring that they will see the lions and tigers later once they finish looking at the butterflies.

Which, to be honest sounds very fair to me. Anyway, and reluctantly, Connor decides to follow them, but once the three kids get to the butterfly gardens all of the other visitors are leaving.

Connor believes that this must be because butterflies are not interesting, but the real reason why everyone is leaving is that the butterflies are missing!

All that is left is a moth flying around, which means that Luna Girl must have taken them. Therefore, the PJ Masks decide to get them back!

The other episodes included alongside 'Catboy and the Butterfly Brigade' on this wondrous new DVD are: 'Clumsy Catboy,' 'Gekko's Stay-at-Home Sneezes,' 'Owlette and the Battling Headquarters,' 'Owlette of a Kind,' and 'Gekko and the Mayhem at the Museum.'

In closing, my husband and I are really grateful for the creators of this show as it values children's innocence. We quote the show often, and my son now says his little sister is Owlette, not me!

But, that's all good as they are bonding over PJ Masks quite like no other show! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
