'Final Score' [Blu-ray+Digital]
(Dave Bautista, Pierce Brosnan, Ray Stevenson, Lara Peake, Martyn Ford, et al / Blu-ray+Digital / R / 2018 / Lionsgate Films)

Overview: After deadly terrorists abduct his niece at a soccer match, an ex-soldier with lethal fighting skills wages a one-man war to save her and prevent mass destruction.

Blu-ray Verdict: Personally, I enjoyed the heck out of this movie and as much as it is truly nothing more than an explosive set of wam-bam-thank-you-mam action sequences, they work tremendously when view, and accepted in that way.

A big, fun, brash, muscular, noisy action flick with a definite 'Die Hard' vibe to it - of it you've seen 'Sudden Death' with JVD, this is the same story just at a football ground; as opposed to an ice hockey arena - Bautista is more than comfortable, and capable, as a big uncle to take on the terrorists should they strike at a football ground.

And, that said football ground is actually the old home of Premiership football team West Ham United who moved to Wembley Stadium to play their home games, and allowed that old ground of theirs (Upton Park) to be, quite literally demolished (both on screen and after the filming was complete!)

Sure the film is full of clichés and it has a predictable story line, but it is just so well executed; by everyone concerned. Tension doesn't run very high when fight scenes are so well choreographed, but its sentimental moments work quite well.

The villains surprise in their downright audacious plot and their unrelenting viciousness and so the clock runs down quite enjoyably, it has to be said. Experience intense action and explosive special effects when 'Final Score' arrives on Blu-ray™ (plus Digital), DVD and Digital November 13th from Lionsgate. This film is currently available On Demand. This is a Widescreen Presentation (2.39:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
