'A Swingers Weekend'
(Mia Kirshner, Jonas Chernick, Erin Agostino, Michael Xavier, Erin Karpluk, et al / DVD / NR / 2018 / MVD Visual)

Overview: Seemingly perfect couple Lisa and Dan plan a steamy swingers weekend. However things go wrong when a third couple drops in unexpectedly.

DVD Verdict: In what turns out to be (thankfully) not your typical sex comedy, 'A Swingers Weekend' gives the viewer much more than (I think) they also bargained for.

The cast here is terrific with each actor bringing something fresh and new to the roles that could have so easily been stereotyped on screen. The film begins with a light, comedic tone and then about a third way through, there's a shift.

Nothing I'll give away, but it's something that you kinda sorta saw coming, but in an undercurrent way. Meaning, you may well have considered it being an "issue", but never assumed that they themselves (on screen) would actually "stop" the films vibe to take it upon themselves to delve into (if that makes sense, as I don't wish to give it away).

Anyway, yes, of course, you're not idiots, so the film takes a more dramatic theme as relationships are put to the test, but still all done with the undercurrent now the comedic element.

Laugh out loud funny at the first two thirds, seriously overtoned and poignant in the latter third, 'A Swingers Weekend' is for all those people who have ever been in a long-term relationship!

Also featuring a great musical backdrop, this film fully deserves a wider audience than this straight to DVD on. Buy it, watch it, and enjoy (with friends; preferably long-term couples!!) This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
