Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: Family Fun Collection
(DVD / G / 2018 / PBS Kids)

Overview: This grr-ific DVD includes 'Daniel Is Big Enough To Help Dad,' 'Daniel Is Special,' 'Tiger Family Trip' and 5 other tigertastic episodes!

DVD Verdict: For those not in the know, 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' is an animated program for preschoolers ages 2 to 4. It actually builds on the pioneering PBS series, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

Through imagination, creativity, and music, Daniel and his friends learn the key social skills necessary for school and for life.

Here on the wonderful 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: Family Fun Collection' we get 8 wondrous kids tales to enjoy at just under two hours.

There's time for family fun all year round with Daniel Tiger! Watch Daniel and his dad work together to build a playhouse and then take a special fall walk through the Neighborhood where they admire the colors of the leaves along the way.

Next, the entire Tiger Family heads out on a road trip to Grandpere's house, where they learn all about the exciting things to do and see when you're on a trip with your family.

Finally, Daniel, Dad, Prince Wednesday, and Prince Tuesday all go sledding down a big hill, and Daniel tries ice skating for the very first time!

But 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' isn't just about keeping the lil' ones visually quiet for a while! There are many occasions for preschool skills like color recognition and simple counting practice as well as positive character traits like patience and obedience to be discovered here.

Even more prominent, from beginning to end is the story's reminder of the value of trying new things. Which Daniel does with the help of his parents and his kindly Dad.

My 2-year old grandson LOVES this show! He is rarely still, but will sit through entire episodes of Daniel Tiger, responding to questions, singing along, and giving me "Ugga- mugga" kisses. He even has a "Tigey" he sleeps with! So, what more could you want?! These are all Widescreen Presentations (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
