'Survival Guide for Pain-Free Living: Peggy Cappy'
(4-DVD / NR / 2018 / PBS)

Overview: This 4-DVD collection features renowned yoga instructor Peggy Cappy who joins forces with neuromuscular therapist Lee Albert with these game-changing exercise routines that can relieve pain in your back, knees, hips, and head, including chronic migraine headaches.

DVD Verdict: For those not in the know, Peggy Cappy is the creator of the PBS Yoga for the Rest of Us DVD series and the founder of Gentle Stretch Yoga for seniors and others who need a gentle or modified approach to yoga.

Peggy has perfected an adaptable yoga program that is easy, effective, and enjoyable. Peggy’s unique approach to yoga has adults finding they have energy and flexibility they never dreamed possible at their age.

For more than forty years, Peggy Cappy has been practicing and teaching yoga, meditation, and guided relaxation, helping others create greater comfort and ease in body, mind and spirit. Her studies have taken her to India, the source of yoga, to study with yoga and meditation masters.

Here in a wondrous 4-DVD box-set, 'Survival Guide for Pain-Free Living with Peggy Cappy,' someone like myself, who has had three lower back surgeries and who definitely always needs extra help exercise and yoga wise to build and maintain my core, we all get to learn such things.

In 'Survival Guide for Pain-Free Living with Peggy Cappy,' Peggy and Lee Albert, a neuromuscular therapist and author of the popular books Live Pain Free: Eliminate Chronic Pain without Drugs or Surgery and Yoga for Pain Relief: A New Approach to an Ancient Practice, present effective strategies to help manage chronic pain with easy-to-do stretches and yoga moves. They also share stories of people who used to suffer from chronic pain but who now enjoy a pain-free life.

I'm over 50 now, and have always been active, but this winter I had a sudden onset of back pain and weakness in my muscles. This DVD is not difficult to follow or do, but the stretches you are asked to do can overstretch those not used to them.

That said, upon doing some I thought I couldn't, over a period of just a few days amazing things started to course through my body. I could feel, and briefly hear things realign the first time I used it. With each use I gained even more flexibility, and old pain dissipated after the first viewing, and disappeared after the second!

Amazing! Truly and utterly amazing! Sure, when you do the exercises you think they are so easy that how could they possible make a difference in your own broken down body, but the results are literally, well, ... healing!

I also love the meditation at the end, as if you are like me and just starting to get into the whole yoga concept, that this DVD is the perfect place to start. Furthermore, this DVD is for everyone, young or old, in small amounts of pain, in large amounts of pain, and in no pain at all (just wanting to get tighter, fitter, healthier). Highly Recommend! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
