'KISS Rocks Vegas' [Blu-ray]
(KISS / Blu-ray + CD / NR / 2016 / Eagle Vision)

Overview: In November 2014 a helicopter landed at the infamous Hard Rock Hotel as KISS invaded Las Vegas for an historic nine-show run. Now, fans will be able to own this spectacular Blu-ray/CD for themselves as 'KISS Rocks Vegas' hits stores across the globe.

Blu-ray Verdict: The powerhaus quartet know as KISS (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, Eric Singer) have been doing these kind of shows since day one, but this time 'KISS Rocks Vegas' just seems to have a decidedly ramped up visual and musical appeal to it. After appearing in movie theaters around the world and on your television and computer screens via pay-per-view, Kiss‘ latest concert film will now be available for purchase in a variety of audio and home-video formats on August 26th, 2016.

The live show is, as noted above, decidedly ramped up and perfectly captures every tongue lick and every droplet of sweat that these guys bring forth. That said, this isn't KISS at their loudly expansive usual selves, for this Vegas show is a more intimate setting. Complete with a brand new "immersive" stage set, and shot during their 2014 residency in Las Vegas, the live set itself is chock full of everything that you would expect from a KISS show on the road.

Blu-ray+CD Track Listing:
1. “Detroit Rock City” 2. “Creatures of the Night” 3. “Psycho Circus” 4. “Parasite” 5. “War Machine” 6. “Tears are Falling” 7. “Deuce” 8. “Lick it Up” 9. “I Love it Loud” 10. “Hell or Hallelujah” 11. “God of Thunder” 12. “Do You Love Me?” 13. “Love Gun” 14. “Black Diamond” 15. “Shout it Out Loud” 16. “Rock and Roll All Night".

Acoustic Set: 1. “Comin’ Home” 2. “Plaster Caster” 3. “Hard Luck Woman” 4. “Christine Sixteen” 5. “Goin’ Blind” 6. “Love Her All I Can” and 7. “Beth”.

Paul Stanley himself has said many things about the bands 2014 Vegas residency, but nothing summed this show up better than, “We Rocked and Vegas Rolled ! This was Epic In Your Face KISS ! We got Up close and personal, I think Rock and Roll fans will really enjoy this spectacle that only KISS can deliver.” And watching the near two-hour long show, well, it is a very breathtaking, hectic, full-on live show, as one would expect. For me the stand out cuts here are the set opener "Detroit Rock Cit" (loud bangs and fireworks galore), "War Machine", "Lick It Up", and both "Love Gun" and "Shout It Out Loud".

Aside from this Blu-ray+CD set, 'KISS Rocks Vegas' can be purchased in DVD+CD, DVD+2LP and Deluxe Edition DVD+Blu-Ray+2CD box set versions. As noted above, video footage of a seven-song acoustic set is included as a bonus on the DVD/CD and Blu-ray/CD versions. The deluxe edition comes in a 12″x12′ hardcover book, and in addition to the video version of the acoustic set, it also includes a bonus CD of those seven “unplugged” songs. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and has a running time of 114 minutes.
