'Ugly Benny'
(Timothy Justus, Karen Tarleton, Diego Josef, Vivienne Powell, Louis Dezseran, et al / DVD / NR / 2015 / Mill Creek Entertainment)

Overview: We've all heard the saying you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, and perhaps nobody embodies the sage wisdom of that advice better than Benny, or Ugly Benny, as he has come to be called by those who have encountered him at For Pet's Sake Pet Store.

DVD Verdict: In truth, 'Ugly Benny' (yup, you read that correctly, "Benny" NOT "Betty" - which makes a lot more sense when you discover we're talking about a dog anyway!) is a fuzzy, frumpled, tiny ball of frazzled yarn with four paws and two sweet eyes peeking out. As we ourselves quickly discover, Benny certainly wasn't much to look at when he first arrived as a puppy on the doorstep of the pet store.

Indeed, Sam (Timothy Oman) and Emma (Karen Tarleton) found him there waiting in a little box when they arrived for work one morning, just staring up at them with those tiny, lovable little eyes. To this day, as the story pans out, no one knows where he came from or who brought him there.

Like most dog tails (sorry, that was too easy ... tales!), 'Ugly Benny' is a tale of redemption - for both the dog and those that find him. An inspiring and uplifting story for all our family members, young and old, 'Ugly Benny' is a beautiful story of a loveable dog that will melt your heart and have you reaching for the tissues, trust me! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1:85.1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
