'Zoey To The Max'
(Amy Smart, Grant Bowler, Cassidy Mack, et al / DVD / NR / 2015 / Cinedigm)

Overview: Zoey, a thirteen year old foster child, watches her foster family's dog get stolen while she's in charge! The criminals, a pair of Home-Alone-like thugs, are after the mutt because he is a famous show dog!

DVD Verdict: A fun, family-friendly movie if ever there was one, 'Zoey To The Max' tells the story of how a thirteen year-old girl, Zoey (played by Cassidy Mack) is lazily "watching the house, and all its "contents" therein, but out of nowhere two distinctly substandard (as this type of movie fare go) dog nappers luck out when their quest to kidnap the family dog is laid out on a plate for them.

With the dog, Max, being a show dog, and therefore worth more money on the open market than any old run of the mill hound, Zoey runs away and sets out on a cross-country adventure. In tandem with her new friend they lokk in all the wrong places, at first, before the scent of Max starts to get stronger.

Trying to save the relationship with her foster family, Sheriff Tom Jenkins (played by 'Defiance's very own lead hunk, Grant Bowler) and Samantha Jenkins (Amy Smart, 'Just Friends'), throughout the journey Zoey must dig-in and fight for the life she's always wanted; whilst undergoing a sudden personal growth in the process! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
