'Hillbilly Horror Show (Vol. 1)'
(Scott Geiter, Rachel Faulkner Bo Keister, et al / DVD / NR / 2014 / MVDvisual)

Overview: Hillbilly Horror Show (Vol. 1) is a one-hour anthology of short horror films created by up-and-coming filmmakers and hosted by our favorite, fun loving and beer-guzzling hillbillies, Bo, Cephus and their ""Smo-Kin"" cousin Lulu.

DVD Verdict: Created by award winning writer and producer Blu de Golyer (House Of Good And Evil) and veteran actor and producer Bo Keister (Remember The Titans). The team selects and curates some of the scariest, most entertaining horror shorts found on this here planet.

'Hillbilly Horror Show: Volume 1' kicks-off strong with Franky and the Ant ("Best of Fest" - 2013 LA Indie Film Fest), followed by the outstanding animated horror short, Doppelganger. Next, we bring on a fun little homage to the zombie genre with Amused. Finally, we close out with a BUZZ and introduce you to The Nest ("Best Foreign Short" - 2011 Atlanta Shortsfest).

In between the films hilarity ensues as our hillbilly family comments on the films, drink beer, and whip up a tasty batch of skunk stew! Not to mention, there are LOTS of great views of Lulu to take in!

The 'Hillbilly Horror Show' is a funny and clever way to see new horror shorts from talented up-and-coming filmmakers. A nice addition to the standard 'Tales from the Crypt' format. The hosts in this show are a talented group of actors who are also hilarious. They always have me laughing hard before each mini episode. I love the variety from each horror short so it doesn't feel repetitive, and the comedy that the hosts inject! Oh, and Rachel Faulkner is incredibly hot, so there's yet another great reason to watch this show! This is a Full Screen Presentation (1.33:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
