'Harold's Going Stiff'
(Stan Rowe, Sarah Spencer, Phil Gascoyne, et al / DVD / NR / 2014 / Level 33 Entertainment)

Overview: Harold is suffering from a frightening new disease that is turning him into a zombie. After an experimental new treatment fails, Harold's condition deteriorates and he ends up on the run from a group of violent vigilantes who are out for blood!

DVD Verdict: In truth, and as a HUGE fan of 'The Walking Dead,' it's rather great to watch a British film - which has actually been filmed entirely in Yorkshire! Makes a change from the usual Zombie gore fest and actually has a bit of a touching side to it.

I watched it with some friends and we had many a laugh out loud at it, trust me! Sure there is a serious side towards the end to be admired, but if you're not laughing along with the lead character, Harold within 10 minutes, then this is not the "zombie" comedy for you!

Told from a pseudo-documentary style, which just adds to its enjoyment, it's most important to give credit to the acting performances here. Because they really helped the movie along nicely and made the movie stand out all the more. Especially the performances of Stan Rowe (playing Harold) and Sarah Spencer (playing Penny Rudge) should be noticed here.

In closing, if you want murder, blood, guts and complete gore, this probably isn't the film you're looking for. If you want something a little different, although still within the genre (to a point) you should definitely give it a try. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Bonus Features of:

Behind-the-Scenes Footage
Featurette
Director's Q&A
London Premiere Footage
