DVD Verdict: My goodness! If you want to play 'Southland' catch-up after having watched the first season on DVD a few years back now, this 6-disc set containing all 26 explosive Season Two, Three and Four episodes is just the perfect viewing entity.

If you were not already awre, 'Southland' is an updated version of 'Adam 12,' just with more graphic visuals and current dialog, of course. In fact, it has a unadulterated storyline which lifts it above the current trash that's on TV Land. The look is unusual for TV which is probably why it was canceled midway through its first season on a major TV network!

'Southland' is shot with RED cameras which means a digital process all the way. And it shows through on the clarity of every single episode. Anyway, sometimes the cops triumph. Sometimes they fail. And sometimes the poison they live with on the job comes home with them. Police action hits hard in 'Southland' and it deserves your FULL attention.
