'Roger Hodgson - Take The Long Way Home'
(Roger Hodgson / DVD / NR / (2006) 2007 / Eagle Vision)

Overview: Roger Hodgson is the voice of Supertramp. Co-founding the band in 1969, he was the lead singer and writer of nearly all their hits throughout the band's heyday in the seventies and early eighties. Since leaving Supertramp in 1983 he has had a series of critically acclaimed and successful solo albums and come through a major accident in the late eighties that threatened his entire career. This DVD, the first live release from either Roger or Supertramp, was filmed in Montreal and catches Roger Hodgson at his very best.

DVD Verdict: 'Take the Long Way Home — Live in Montreal' is Roger Hodgson's first DVD. It was released in Canada in 2006 and went Platinum in only 7 weeks. Watching this wonderful Roger Hodgson performance, each and every song pitch perfect, you can fully understand why.

If you are either a Hodgson or Supertramp fan this is definitely a DVD that should be added to your collection. It's the only live DVD from him (legally, of course!), and the sound/visual quality is spot on. Its a great collection of songs and shows that Roger still has what it takes.

The extras on this DVD are plentiful also, which isn't usually the case, if truth be told. It has interviews, behind the scenes stuff and bonus tracks with orchestral additions - "Logical Song w/Orchestra" and "Fools Overture w/Orchestra." This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

Bonus Tracks - "Even In The Quietest Moments," "Dreamer"
Excerpts From - "The Logical Song" and "Fool's Overture" (both with Orchestra)
