Oasis - Morning Glory: Classic Album Under Review
(Oasis, et al / DVD / NR / 2007 / Sexy Intellectual)
Overview: It's October 1985, and Oasis are riding high on te back of what has already been dubbed the 'greatest debut of all time' in certain quarters. Never known to hide their light under a bushel, the band unleash their second set of killer tunes with 'Morning Glory,' which takes the charts by storm, and becomes the focal point in the phenomenon now known as Britpop.
DVD Verdict: Formed in Manchester in 1991 and led by lead guitarist and primary songwriter Noel Gallagher and his younger brother, lead vocalist and songwriter Liam Gallagher, Oasis are one of the most successful groups to emerge during the Britpop movement of the mid-1990s.
They have sold approximately 50 million albums worldwide and have had eight UK hit singles. The Gallagher brothers are the only remaining original band members, as the present line-up is completed by rhythm/lead guitarist Gem Archer, bass guitarist Andy Bell and drummer Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr's son!).

With the use of archive footage, long forgotten videos and contributions from those around at the time, this program uncovers why the bands second album is arguably their most satisfying.
Featuring live and studio performances of tracks from 'Morning Glory,' they are all reviewed by a panel of esteemed experts and come complete with band interviews, rarely seen photographs and archive footage. But it's the bonus feature of 'When Oasis Met Blur' - the full recording from the moment the Britpop heavyweights met at the same radio station in 1995 - that truly takes this whole flashback to an higher level of both entertainment and pop culture.
