'Tammy Wynette - Greatest Hits Live'
(Tammy Wynette, et al / DVD / NR / (1981) 2007 / MVD)

Overview: This concert DVD was recorded live at the Church Street Station Theatre in Orlando, Florida. Here Wynette, the naive farm girl who, with one of the most recognizable voices in country music sold more than 30 million records, puts on one of her trademark breath-taking performances.

DVD Verdict: Born near the Tupelo, Mississippi birthplace of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley, Tammy Wynette could be called the queen of country pop. The Grammy-winning hitmaker (she had 40 Top 10 songs) sang wrenchingly of broken hearts and broken marriages, with a specific focus on the hardships of being a woman. On this concert video, recorded in 1981 at The Church St. Station Theatre in Flordia, the star performs several of her classics, including "Stand By Your Man," "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad," and "Crying In The Rain." No other female country singer conveyed the emotion of heartbreak like Tammy Wynette. She endeared herself to millions by singing about topics of everyday life - divorce, loneliness, parenting, and passion. In this concert Tammy Wynette proves why she was, and will always be, The First Lady Of Country Music. Looking and sounding fabulous, Tammy is faultless in this live performance. Her tearful singing style was the voice of every heartbreak a woman has ever known. This DVD is a fine representation of her incredible talent. Absolutley fantastic!! God Bless Tammy Wynette. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and does not come with any Special Features.
