'The Girls Next Door - Season 1'

E!'s "The Girls Next Door" reality series has exceeded expectations and is coming back for a second season

"The Girls Next Door" follows the lives of Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt, who all live with and love Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. Their unusual relationship is the heart of the reality series filmed at the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills, Calif.

Despite being called "misogynistic" when the show aired last year, the ratings indicate that women make up a large portion of the audience.

"It's surprising, considering what many of the skeptics said when it first aired," says Brent Zacky, E!'s executive producer for the series. "I think a major reason for its success is that the viewers love the girls."

The second season of "The Girls Next Door" is set to kick off on Sunday night.

(Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, et al / 3-Disc DVD / NR / (2005) 2006 / 20th Century Fox)

Overview: Welcome to the world's most famous and most glamorous bastion of hedonism, the Playboy Mansion! For the first time ever, The Girls Next Door takes you beyond the Mansion's gates and behind closed doors where you'll meet Holly, Kendra, and Bridget, just your average girls next door with one small difference...They're smoking hot! Join these lovely ladies for an uncensored view of their daily lives as they laugh, love, play, and party, and see why being Hugh Hefner's girlfriends definitely has its advantages! The Girls Next Door also features sexy, never-before-seen, unrated versions of episodes-- unbleeped, unblurred, and unbelievable!

DVD Verdict: This has got to be the dumbest and most addictive reality show their is. 'The Girls Next Door' is about Kendra, 20, the sporty one (#3); Holly, 23, the sweet one (#1); and Bridget, 32, beauty and brains (#2). Together, these girls make up Playboy Hugh Hefner's girlfriends. E!'s hit reality show follows the girls around their every day lives while living in the Playboy Mansion. At first glance, you might think it's the dumbest show you've ever seen. Then slowly you'll gain a favorite. (Holly is mine.) Before you know it, you'll be addicted and an avid watcher. I've seen every episode, and I still watch it every time it's on. It's almost like a train wreck ... you don't know why you're watching, but you just can't turn your eyes away. In the first season you'll get some episodes including, their Playboy pictorial shoot, the Halloween Party, Kendra & Bridget's birthday bashes, two trips to Las Vegas, one trip to NYC, one trip to Chicago, Playmates testing, a trip to Bridget's hometown, and many more! Unrated and uncut? Even better. Pick this up, and live the fantasy.. even if you end up thinking it's the complete opposite of what you thought life at the Playboy mansion was like. If you think you're going to see a scene from Jennifer Saginor's 'Playground', you won't find it here.. but you might just be pleasantly surprised, and hooked on the girls next door. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

15 episodes on 3 discs
Optional uncensored audio
