'X-Men Evolution - The Complete Third Season'
(Kirby Morrow, Scott McNeil, et al / 2-Disc DVD / NR / (2000) 2006 / Warner Bros.)

Overview: Professor Charles Francis Xavier, who has the mutant ability to read minds, searches for new mutants to train them how to use their powers for good and to prevent the mutants from harming themselves and others at his School for Gifted Youngsters. His opposition, Magneto "Master of Magnetism", is doing the same thing, but for evil purposes. He has made Mystique who is a shape-shifter, a principle of his high school to gather evil mutants to prepare them for war against non-mutants. The most interesting plot of the story is that all the heroes and villains attend the same high school. The classic battle of good vs. evil has begun again.

DVD Verdict: I'm so glad they're coming out with the entire season at once! I am still missing 2 DVDs from the first 2 seasons because it was so hard to find when and where they were being sold. Also, Season 3 is probably my favorite - the characters are well-developed, and we start getting further into what makes them who they are. Season 4, in my opinion, jumps around too much, but Season 3 focuses on things that are important later on, as well as showing sides of the characters that we haven't seen before. I also have to pay mention to the wonderful extra features of the DVD as they turned out to be really exciting! And I must say Marvel had done a pretty good job by releasing such an animated series in the history of live action-series. X-Men ... way above! But the final reason I'm looking forward to this is just two words: Self Possessed! This is a Full Screen Presentation (1.33:1) and comes with the Special Features of:

13 episodes on two discs
Cerebro's Mutant Files: The X-men - Heroes
Cerebro's Mutant Files: The Acolytes - Villains
Mystique's Trivia Challenge
Season 3 X-Posed; The Evolution of X-Men
