'16 Wishes' [Blu-ray]
(Debby Ryan, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Anna Mae Routledge, Karissa Tynes, Kendall Cross, et al / Blu ray / NR / 2010 / IMAGE Ent.)

Overview: Ever since Abigail Jensen (Debby Ryan, “Disney’s The Suite Life on Deck”) was a little girl, she dreamt of the day she would be all grown up and having the perfect Sweet Sixteen birthday party. When the big day finally comes, she adds her 16th and final wish to her secret list in hopes of all 16 wishes coming true.

Blu ray Verdict: She may well play super-sweet southern belle Bailey Pickett on the Disney Channel's The Suite Life On Deck, but Debby Ryan laps it up here playing conflicted teen Abby in this cute made-for-TV movie, '16 Wishes.'

'16 Wishes' is an inside look into the life of a young teenage girl who wants to gain the attention of her crush, get the Ford Mustang she’s always dreamed of, and become the most fashionable and popular girl in school on her 16th birthday.

While her best friend, Jay Kepler (Jean-Luc Bilodeau, “Kyle XY”), and she await the bus, a delivery truck pulls up and delivers a package of 16 candles to Abby. Although the morning of her birthday did not match her idea of the “perfect 16th birthday”, her birthday gets a whole lot brighter when she realizes that the candles correspond to the 16 wishes from her secret list and that they each would come true indefinitely!

Yup, this is the part when you suspend belief for sure, but remember, this is a Disney channel made-for-TV film, and so little minds can hold bigger brain threats! Anyway, after several of her wishes come true, her 9th wish goes terribly wrong and leaves Abby desperate to find a way to break the “wish rules”.

And the moral? Well, perhaps sometimes you don’t realize what you have until it’s gone! My God, don't we know that already, each and every one of us?! I'm sure we do, but this is a very cute, well-made show for sure, nonetheless! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Feature of:
