'Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie'
(Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell, et al / DVD / R / 2012 / Magnolia Home Entertainment)

Overview: Two wacky, novice filmmakers receive a billion dollars to make a movie, only to squander every dime. Afraid for their lives, they attempt to revitalize a failing shopping mall to make the money back. Featuring cameos from some of the biggest names in comedy!

DVD Verdict: Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim specialize in various television projects for Adult Swim; projects that are (in my opinion) are very hit or miss, the results both strangely hilarious and visually upsetting.

And so I went into 'Tim & Erics Billion Dollar Movie' with an open mind, loved (LOVED) the 'Chef' Goldblum opening ad skit, but then it all went quickly down hill. Not that it was created as an Oscar contender, far from it, but it doesn't even try and establish a grip on its audience. Indeed, the pace of the whole movie (compared to the show) is so slow you might as well put the kettle on for a cuppa every 10 minutes. And every single punchline can be seen coming from miles ahead!

Chock full of random (and some very clever) skits, basically Tim and Eric are given a billion dollars to make a movie for the evil Schlaaang corporation - which runs at under four minutes and bombs! With the investors wanting their money back, and head man Tommy Schlaaang wanting to kill them, they skip town in order to reopen a run-down mall - for Will Ferrell's character AND a billion dollars to get it back on its feet!

Add in some John C. Riley in a starring role as a diseased cousin of Ferrell living within the confines of the mall, and a TOTALLY unbelievable, disgusting Shrimm scene, and you have a movie that will either make you laugh or cry. And so, if your sense of humor is high and you like the over the top stupid Will Farrell type humor then this is for you. For all others, I would stay away at the risk of being offended - seriously! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
