We Are One, one of the highlights at the opening celebrations for the 56th Presidential Inauguration, is a 2-hour concert that HBO exclusively televised live on Sunday, January 18, 2009. A marquee event held on the steps of the iconic Lincoln Memorial, the concert is brimming with high-caliber performances by some of the biggest names in the world of entertainment and beyond.

Attended by President-elect Obama and Mrs. Obama and Vice President-elect Biden and Dr. Biden, the concert features musical performances by Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Renee Fleming, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, Bettye LaVette, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, John Mellencamp, Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, U2, Usher Raymond IV, will.i.am and Stevie Wonder.

Disc two´s contents begin with President Obama´s Inaugural Address. The 21 minute 21 second speech is delivered with precision, passion and poise. Obama made many biblical, historical and cultural references that centrally involved his desire to restore the average American´s faith in his or her government and its ability to act responsibly.

The first-ever Neighborhood Ball, an exclusive presentation by ABC on Inauguration night, brought the historic celebration of our new President to the neighborhoods of America. The gala evening spotlights the President’s and First Lady’s first dance to Beyoncé’s moving rendition of “At Last” in the all-out event hosted by Nick Cannon, with featured performances by will.i.am, Mary J. Blige, Maroon 5, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Sting and Faith Hill.
