Title - 'In The Blink of an Eye' (Red Distribution)
Artist - Katrina
Back in April Katrina's debut album In the Blink of an Eye was released and it's been gathering critical acclaim ever since then.
The album is an iTunes feature in the POP section and is produced by legendary Grammy-winning producer/engineer Val Garay (James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Kim Carnes).
A very well produced album with powerful vocals and top notch production, it's no shock to think that after nearly a decade away Katrina can come back with such a powerful album. Indeed, it's those strong vocals that can be for sure traced back to her Star Search days.
The vocally-powerful 'So Eden' kicks this album off and in some fantastic musical style too! The song is so good, so perfect to encapsulate the primary sound of this young lady. The easy flow of 'Taken' is next, before the first single released from the album, 'Shame On Me' - a song that was #1 on Clear Channel's 'NEW! Artist to Watch' chart for nearly 2 months - is next.
The school girl texting crush of 'If Only' is next with the autobiographical 'Closet Full of Love' close behind. The next track, 'Nevertowne' has a great, fun rhythm bounce to it, before the electro buzz teenage thump of 'Lost In The Hollywood Hills' comes forth. And yes, it's the kinda song that Rebecca Black ('Friday') wishes she'd written/sung!
The sultry 'Krazee Kisses' oozes its way out next, before the countryfied hip-slap of 'Hey It's Over' comes down the pipe. The album is nicely closed out with the teen fist pump anthem 'OPM' (Other People's Money) complete with mid-song rap.
