Final Gravity

Title - ‘Last Tangle In Paris’ (CD/DVD) (UDR Music)
Artist - Ministry

My goodness, now this is what we have all (especially those devoted fans such as myself) have been waiting for! Ministry, the legendary six-time Grammy-nominated American industrial metal band founded by lead singer Al Jourgensen in 1981 have just released Last Tangle In Paris, a CD/DVD package that documents the band's 2012 DeFiBriLaTour.

Featuring live performances, in-studio, rehearsal and backstage footage, and one-on-one interviews, Jourgensen is known as the "godfather of industrial metal," and has continually challenged any "standards" or stereotypes that have come his way. Known in most musical quarters as an explosive and highly unpredictable band - and one that brought industrial dance-metal music to the mainstream - Last Tangle In Paris is an artistic collaboration between UDR Music and 13th Planet Records, Inc.

Now, admittedly the set list is near identical to Enjoy the Quiet: Live at Wacken 2012 and in place of such songs as ‘Jesus Built My Hotrod’ and ‘Stigmata‘ we get the more modern tracks like ‘99%ers’ but the band that have had twelve of their studio albums hit Billboard’s Top 200 Albums; and five of the band's tracks have been Top 20 singles bring to the fore here a musical masterpiece - in sound and vision.

Available in a 2-CD and DVD digipak, Blu-ray and 2-CD Amaray, two (2) vinyl gatefold 160-gram configurations, digital audio and video, and as a simple CD package, Last Tangle In Paris features Al Jourgensen (lead vocal, guitar), Michael Scaccia and Sin Qurin (guitars), John Bechdel (keyboards and samplers), Aaron Rossi (drums), and Casey Orr (bass).

Sadly, Jourgensen disbanded Ministry for good in 2013 after the untimely passing of the band’s long-time guitarist Mike Saccia. Following an on-stage heart attack, while playing with his other band, Rigor Mortis, Scaccia passed soon thereafter. On the video portion of this CD/DVD set though, backstage Jourgensen and band-mates show us what they are made of during rehearsals that are just as loud and as proud as any live performance could ever be. There are also studio clips and one-on-one interviews; including some emotional accounts of the passing of the aforementioned Mike Scaccia.

It is funny though to see Jourgensen dressed in full industrial metal regalia and joking about needing a better job! And then, as he makes his way backstage to find a comfy spot to relax for a moment, he throws out a gem of a story about the night he kicked both Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones) out of his home!

As a special bonus, the digipak version comprises a Ministry tour retrospective double audio album with live performances dating back to 2006. The package was executive-produced by Angelina Lukacin Jourgensen and directed by Zach Passero; all artwork was created by Sam "Mister-Sam" Shearon.
