Title - 'Pisces Iscariot (Deluxe Edition)' (EMI)
Artist - Smashing Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins were one of the most popular alternative rock bands of the 1990s, mostly thanks to the success of second and third albums, Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness respectively.

Being instrumental in creating a new musical wave for listeners to bend an ear to, the big rock band brought together under the watchful eye of leader Billy Corgan the brought out Pisces Iscariot. A veritable wonderment of a collection of B-sides, the resulting musical art is not only a good compendium to their other work, but it's a very good record in its own right.

This 2 CD, 1 DVD and 1 cassette box-set kicks off with a demo of a track recorded in Billy Corgan's bedroom, 'Soothe' (which, as with all the other tracks on this disc have been too, is a 2012 Remaster). The comes 'Frail & Bedazzled,' 'Plume,' 'Whir,' 'Blew Away,' 'Pissant,' 'Hello Kitty Kat,' 'Obscured,' the gritty Fleetwood Mac cover of 'Landslide,' 'Starla,' 'Blue,' 'A Girl Named Sandoz,' 'La Dolly Vita,' and finally 'Spaced.'

The instrumentation has a raw quality. It truly doesn't sound unpolished, but it does have a lot of unbridled power and enthusiasm. Billy Corgan was in good form during each recorded track, that is obvious for all to observe.

The second disc kicks off with 'By June' (Ignoffo Sessions/2012 Mix), and is followed by 'My Dahlia (Ignoffo Sessions/2012 Mix),' 'Jesus Loves His Babies (Gish Sessions Rough Mix),' 'Cinnamon Girl (Ignoffo Sessions/2012 Mix),' 'Glynis (2012 Mix),' 'Crawl (Gish Sessions outtake),' 'Cinder Open (Eddy St. demo/2012 Mix),' 'Blissed (Sadlands demo/2012 Mix),' 'Slunk (Live) (2012 - Remaster),' 'Jackie Blue,' 'Venus in Furs (Live),' 'Translucent (Sadlands demo/2012 mix),' 'French Movie Theme (Siamese Sessions outtake),' 'Purr Snickety (Gish b-sides session outtake),' and then 'There It Goes (Demo/2012 Mix),' 'Vanilla (Ignoffo Sessions),' and finally 'Why Am I So Tired (Live in studio demo).'

But it's truly disc 3, the DVD (of some VERY old concert footage, and more) where things get spicy for all SP fans. With an intro from Billy Corgan himself, we get such visual luxuries as: Pulse Cable Show Introduction by Lou Hinkhouse, There It Goes (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), She (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), She (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Under Your Spell (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), My Eternity (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), My Eternity (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), My Eternity (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), My Eternity (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Bleed (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Nothing and Everything (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Jennifer Ever (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Jennifer Ever (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Jennifer Ever (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Jennifer Ever (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Jennifer Ever (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Death of a Mind (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Spiteface (Pulse Basement Jam - Chicago), Blue, Offer Up, The Joker, Slunk, Dancing In The Moonlight, and both Snap and Hello Kitty Kat.

The fourth item, the 1988 demo cassette tape continues the musical theme of tracks traveling low to loud again with such tracks as: 'Jennifer Ever,' 'East,' 'Nothing And Everything,' 'Sun (Remix),' and both 'She (Live)' and 'Spiteface.'
