Title - 'Samantha Fox: Deluxe Edition' (Cherry Pop)
Artist - Samantha Fox

Samantha Fox, as we all know by now, is an English dance-pop singer, actress, and former glamour model. In 1983, at the age of 16, she began her topless modelling career on Page Three of The Sun, and went on to become a popular pin-up girl.

And then, riding the wave of some serious media attention, in 1986, she launched her pop music career with her debut single 'Touch Me (I Want Your Body)', which instantly became a #1 hit in 17 countries.

She has since sold over 30 million albums worldwide, released seven original albums, has also appeared in a number of films, worked as a TV presenter, and has even appeared on reality TV shows!

Now digitally remastered and expanded, this two CD deluxe edition of her second album, the self-titled SAMANTHA FOX (1987) has been lovingly put out by Cherry Red Records for all her fans to enjoy, once again. Only this time, and for the first time ever, on CD!

This incredible package kicks off with one of its lead radio singles at the time, 'I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night),' before heading into 'I Promise You (Get Ready),' another hit single in 'Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)' (together with Full Force), and then both 'True Devotion' (her first ballad) and her rendition of The Stones' '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.'

Released by Jive in September 1987 the album charted in the UK at #22, in the US at #51, Canada at #40), Australia at #86, and in Germany at #16. For this follow-up album Fox enlisted help from producers and music group Full Force, who were helping Lisa Lisa at that time, to produce some of the songs. And their influence is heard throughout.

The album continues with the Stock, Aitken, and Waterman created 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now,' before the original album draws to a close with 'If Music Be The Food Of Love,' 'That Sensation,' and then both 'Dream City' and 'The Best Is Yet To Come.'

The first disc then adds some newly-discovered (in some cases) and extended versions of her hits, such as 'Even In The Darkest Hours (Extended Version),' The Right Stuff,' 'Hot Tonight,' and 'I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night) (Original Mix).' It rounds out with the trio of 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now (Jump & Jive Mix),' '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction (Bastone Radio Mix)' and finally 'Naughty Girls (Need Love Too (Jons Savage Edit).'

The second disc continues the flow of extended versions and a lot of previously unreleased material by starting with 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now (Extended Version),' before heading into 'I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night) (Extended Version - Previously Unreleased),' 'I Promise You (Get Ready) (Extended Version),' 'Naughty Girls (Need Love Too) (Special Extended Version), and both '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction (Extended Version - Previously Unreleased)' and 'I Promise You (Get Ready) (Stan Shaw Mix - Previously Unreleased).'

The previously-sought-after B-sides and unheard track, many mixes originally only issued on vinyl continue on with 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now (Cub Mix),' 'Naughty Girls (Need Love Too) (Full Force Naughty House Mix - Previously Unreleased),' '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction (She s Gotta Have It Mix - Previously Unreleased),' 'I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night) (12" Remix - Previously Unreleased),' before coming to an impressive close with 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now (Instrumental - Previously Unreleased in the UK),' 'I Surrender (To The Spirit Of The Night) (Instrumental - Previously Unreleased in the UK),' and then 'I Promise You (Get Ready) (Instrumental).'

And with all Cherry Red CD booklets, this one is compiled with personal input from Samantha herself. Indeed, the extensive booklet also features many additional photos, a fully illustrated discography and recording data, full lyrics and new sleeve notes written especially for this release.
