Title - ‘Grade 8’ (Lava/Atlantic)
Artist - Grade 8
The first song I heard by this band was ’Brick By Brick’ and right then I knew I had to find this CD when it came out! On first listen I have to say that I was amazed by the intensity of the songs. They are powerful all the way from the incredible ’Brick By Brick’ and ’Adrenachrome’ (possibly the best song on the album), on through to both ’Get It Out’ and the finale song, ’Celebrate.’ The lyrics just grab you and do not let go until the very end and instead of talking about nookie and all that age-old stuff, Grade 8 talk about real life sh*t! Which you don’t find much in rap/rock, or in pretty much any band these days. So, in a world that is made to listen to the more commercial bands such as both Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit, it’s refreshing to hear something that is true and real! This CD is a must buy.
