Title - 'Rusty Treasures'
Artist - Eldanka

Finland has a number of world class guitarists that create excellent instrumental rock albums and in the spirit of the 1960's and the sound of UK guitar heroes The Shadows and the West Coast instro sound of The Ventures, Eldanka's brand new sophomore album Rusty Treasures is an excellent showcase for the Finnish rockers and their talented lead guitarist / composer Mika Jämsä.

Presenting a dozen original instrumentals, the 2019 line-up of Eldanka features founding member Mika Jämsä, Rasmus Tammik (rhythm guitar), Mauri Haapamäki (bass), and Janne Torvikoski (drums).

1. 'SUP Rider'
2. 'Paranta Beach'
3. 'Slap Me'
4. 'The Promise'
5. 'Treasure'
6. 'Threnody For My Pet Pony'
7. 'Bend or Stretch'
8. 'Dumb Step'
9. 'SF Surf'
10. 'November'
11. 'Jopo - The First Ride'
12. 'Springfields'

With the dozen new tracks rounding out at just 37 minutes, Rusty Treasures may well fairly skip along, but it never misses a beat and is, to my mind, the best album yet from Finland's finest rock instrumental band.

The foot-tappin' Dick Dale brilliance of 'SUP Rider' is first up and that's backed by 'Paranta Beach' (with Jämsä on trumpet and Haapamäki on tenor horn), and then the song that perfectly showcases the brilliance of Jämsä's guitar work, the stunningly atmospheric 'Slap Me.'

The breezy 'The Promise' masterfully adds Celtic elements to its core (notably through Jaakko Järvelä on the reed organ) and that's followed by the frenetic 'The Treasure,' the steadfast, drum-led 'Threnody for My Pet Pony,' and then both the jangly and twanging 'Bend or Stretch' and the fun and mischievous 'Dumb Step.'

The fast-paced, West Coast surf styling of 'SF Surf' is another joy to behold and is backed by a vibe more associated with the late night rides into sunset within Spaghetti Western's on 'November.'

The album then rounds out with the perky 'Jopo - The First Ride' (named after the well-known Finnish retro bike), and then comes to a close with the longest track on the album, the near-4 minute long 'Springfields' (a song inspired by the Christmas holidays).
