Title - 'Hold On ... Life Is Calling'
Artist - The Livesays

For those not in the know, The Livesays are a four piece whose memorable pop/rock tunes, soulful vocals, fresh melodies, catchy hooks, sentimental and thought provoking lyrics, wailing guitars, screaming organ, and pounding drums all combine in one musical place to ensure that what you are hearing from them is as good as it gets!

The vocalist/guitarist and the band's namesake, critically acclaimed songwriter Billy Livesay, has toured with E Streeter Clarence Clemons' band "Temple of Soul," releasing 2 CDs "Live In Asbury Park" Volumes 1 & 2, the second of which features Bruce Springsteen. Billy has shared the stage with so many national artists, his resume reads like a who's who of Billboard chart-topping artists.

Drummer Eddie Zyne has toured and recorded with Hall and Oates, Desmond Child and Rouge, the Monkees, Rick Derringer and Foghat. Victor "Cuqui" Berrios, who grew up in the Big Apple, brings a touch of the city to The Livesays with his Hammond B3 and impassioned vocals. And bassist Jorge Laplume, from Havana, Cuba, with his latin roots coupled with a steady diet of the rock groups such as The Who and Free, brings a bass sound that is both funky and thunderous.

The combination of the versatility of backgrounds and personalities of these veteran players is what makes their sound so unique. Which is why when they release a new CD it's a BIG deal around these parts. Which they have. Entitled Hold On ... Life Is Calling, this dynamic new album is yet again, jam packed with a breathtaking collection of fresh pop/rock. All brought forth by the always-passionate vocals of Livesay, Hold On ... Life Is Calling is best described as 13 classic rock-sounding tracks that simply ooze band confidence and love for the business they are in.

1. I'm Coming Home
2. Angels of The New Millennium
3. Pop Star
4. No Promises
5. Call On Me
6. I've Heard The Truth Before
7. I'd Change Everything
8. This Side Of Town
9. Libertine
10. Why You Want To Keep On Lovin' Me
11. Pick Yourself Up
12. It's What I Have To Do
13. Turn It Around

Billy Livesay, who along with Zyne are also currently the guitarist/lead singer and drummer for Tony Stevens' Slow Ride Original FOGHAT (who tour internationally, most recently in Canada and California) already had a preconceived idea for this new album - life! Indeed, as with most projects for singer/songwriters, these kind of things usually take on a life of their own, and Hold On ... Life Is Calling was no exception.

Livesay accumulated some songs over a period of time, decided to bring them out to play on a whole new disc, and with the undercurrent about the trials of growing up and becoming responsible, those musical adventures came to be these aforementioned 13 tracks.

In closing, The livesays are all GREAT musicians, and Billy Livesay's soulful voice and deeply heartfelt lyrics make this new album a must-have in any self-respecting classic rockers music collection. Now, if it were only being released on vinyl LP, this thing would never leave my turntable!
