Title - 'Ice Age: Collision Course - Motion Picture Score'
Artist - John Debney

As I'm sure you are all well aware by now, 'Ice Age' is one of the most popular animated franchises of all-time with global earnings of 2.8 Billion dollars over the first four films. Each successive film has been bigger than the previous and the fact that star composer John Debney is at the helm of the score for this latest installment, 'Ice Age: Collision Course' can only mean the movies' musical success train will kee; on'a rollin'!

In 'Ice Age: Collision Course', Scrat's epic pursuit of his elusive acorn catapults him outside of Earth, where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the planet. To save themselves from peril, Manny, Sid, Diego, and the rest of the herd leave their home and embark on a quest full of thrills and spills, highs and lows, laughter and adventure while traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.

Fresh off his success with the brand new 'The Jungle Book' soundtrack, John Debney once again brings us the ideal score for such a fun little film. In a recent article by Variety, Debney stated that his score for 'The Jungle Book' was the type of score he has always been waiting for. One where the music would play a critical role in the story. Likewise here on 'Ice Age: Collision Course', for as much as it isn't anywhere near as close to a "critical role" to have filled (let's be honest), it still is a musical role that had to be undertaken with a passionate belief.

Ergo, and having now listened to this 30 track CD score twice now, back-to-back, it's quite obvious to me that Debney has poured all of his experience, heart, and soul into this score. Mainly because it has some truly beautiful moments within it, combined with some of the subdued, and yet ready-to-burst zaniest snap shots of life with Scrat in it!
