Title - 'Boogie 4 Stu' (Eagle Records)
Artist - Ben Waters
The musicians that asked to appear on the album are all top notch. The way that Ben Waters' piano weaves in and out with Charlie Watts' drums seems so carefree and intricate at the same time. Especially on Roll Em' Pete.
Hearing Bill Wyman perform with the Stones again was a definite highlight. Reuniting the Stones' old rhythm section, (if only for one song), provides the type of back beat that the Stones have sadly missed since the early 90's.
Worried Life Blues is also something that people should take a listen to. Even experienced Stones fans might not know what Woody's voice sounds like so the novelty of hearing him sing will draw you in. But his voice is also perfectly suited to blues tracks and the way he duets with Keith, with the vocals weaving in and out is another gem.
Including Stu's live performance of Bring It On Home is the perfect way to close the album. The energy of the crowd and the beauty of the song is such a great way to cap things off! [RM]
