Title - 'Elevenses'
Artist - Daevid Allen Weird Quartet

As I'm sure you all know by now, Christopher David Allen, better known as Daevid Allen, sometimes even credited as Divided Alien, was an Australian poet, guitarist, singer, composer and performance artist. He was co-founder of progressive rock groups Soft Machine (in the UK, 1966) and Gong (in France, 1967) and sadly recently passed away on the 13th of March, 2015.

Elevenses is a collection of the final recordings of guitarist/vocalist Daevid Allen, and for this project, Allen enlisted the talents of Don Falcone of Spirits Burning plus members of The Tubes, The Muffins and more!

Featuring all new compositions, Elevenses finds Allen mixing styles from throughout his career including blues, Irish folk, ambient and post-punk! At times lovingly invoking classic Gong elements alongside delightful, and playful bouts of gliss guitar, vintage organ and more oddball musical delights, Elevenses is the near-perfect marriage between both synthetic and acoustic.

3. 'The Latest Curfew Craze'
4. 'Kick That Habit Man'
5. 'Secretary Of Lore'
6. 'Alchemy'

9. 'God's New Deal'
10. 'Dim Sum In Alphabetical Order'
11. 'Killer Honey'

In truth, Elevenses might not be everyone's cup o' tea, but it most definitely serves as a big reminder to the incredible musical talents that Allen could - seemingly at all times - bring forth. Available on both CD and vinyl, have your cup of Elevenses tea today alongside the musical delights, and picturesque storytelling of the late, but still great Daevid Allen [Weird Quartet].
