Title - 'Days In The Sun' [EP]
Artist - SkyTalk

For those not in the know, SkyTalk are Talor Steinberg - Guitar/Vocals, his twin brother Jordan Steinberg - Bass/Lead Vocals, and Ello Costello - Drums/Keys/Vocals, and were actually only just formed in January 2015!

It truly is hard to believe once you have listened to this debut five track EP, for the prog rock trio's ability to effortlessly combine that genre with the soul and funk of the 70's is beyond anything musically genius that I have heard in a decade or more.

This quite brilliant, refreshingly-so EP kicks off with the highly addictive prog funk of the title track, 'Days In The Sun.' Instantly showcasing the varying dulcet tones of lead vocalist Steinberg, it is no wonder that the band is getting the credited hype they deserve within the business. Next up is the mid-tempo smooth soul funk of 'Hearing the Silence,' which is backed by - at moments - Rushesque guitar work of 'Fall Awake.'

My goodness, the soul / funk of 'Say' is, for me, one of the stand out highlights of this brilliant debut EP and makes you crave for their full-length album like nothing before. With a lyrical emphasis on spiritual concepts, and the shared belief that music is a necessary and powerful force of healing and expression in the world, the EP rounds out with the emphatic prog rock sounds of 'Foot Traffic.'
