Title - 'Brush With The Moon'
Artist - Quill

The tragic passing of Ben Brain some three [3] years ago left his wife Joy Strachan-Brain and his many friends and admirers initially with an immense sense of grief and loss. However, lead singer Strachan-Brain shuffled the bands personnel a little over the ensuing years and now here in 2015, Joy, Kate McWilliam, Dave Bailey and Tim Tandler have added Tony Kelsey, Bev Bevan and Matt Davies to the musical fold.

A British band that seems to effortlessly blend, country, folk and rock into songs that are still wanted in today's market, and with top notch vocals, excellent musicians and an over all highly well produced album, the 7-piece have come together for Brush With The Moon, their first album to be released worldwide, believe it or not.

In essence, Brush With The Moon is a tribute to the late Ben Brain. A collection of songs written by the man himself, Brain was not only a fantastic wordsmith and performer, but a well respected artist. Ergo, all of the album artwork consists of Ben's sketches, which accompany his handwritten lyrics. Indeed, the front cover is a water color painting Ben had produced depicting the songs on the album, with additional artwork contribution to the album from his daughter, Jenna Swann.

Relative "newcomer" to the band, ELO legend Bev Bevan has obviously always been an admirer of Quill, as he slots in like he was born to be an original member. And so, as you would expect with so many fabulous artists together in the same studio, at the same time, all there to make incredible music, Brush With The Moon succeeds in taking the audience on an exciting and emotional journey with songs that allow them to not only relate to, but connect with also.
