Title - 'Love Is The Great Rebellion'
Artist - Ben Lee

Ben Lee has released ten solo studio albums. I know, right! Well, to be actually precise, with the release of this brilliant new album, Love Is The Great Rebellion, make that now eleven!

For those not in the know, Lee is an Australian ARIA Award winning musician and actor. He actually began his career as a musician at the age of 14 with the Sydney band Noise Addict, but focused on his solo career when the band broke up in 1995. For those keen observers/stalkers amongst you out there, he appeared as the protagonist in the Australian film 'The Rage in Placid Lake' (2003).

Love Is The Great Rebellion finds the Sydney native making a sonic return to the heyday of his 2005 fan favorite album Awake Is The New Sleep, which went double-platinum in Australia and spawned the hit 'Catch My Disease.' Indeed, for this new album, Lee reteamed with Awake's producer Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Veruca Salt), who also produced several of Lee's nine solo albums, including 1995's Grandpaw Would, 1997's Something to Remember Me By, and 2009's The Rebirth of Venus.

With Ayahuasca: Welcome to the Work, an album based upon Lee's and Chapnik Kahn's personal experiences with the South American healing medicine, being his last solo release in 2013, Lee's constant desire for experimental, soulful and joyful, meditative and tender, playful and yet sincere melodies is once again to be found in abundance here on Love Is The Great Rebellion.

1. 'Giving Up On Miracles' 2. 'Goodbye To Yesterday' 3. 'Forgiveness' 4. 'Big Love' 5. 'Happiness' 6. 'I'm Changing My Mind' 7. 'The Body Of Love' 8. 'Everybody Dies' 9. 'Everything Is OK' 10. 'Victory' 11. 'The Universe Inside' 12. 'Don't Let The Fire Die' 13. 'God Is A Fire'

Chock full of beautiful music and thoughtful, inspiring lyrics, tracks such as 'Giving Up On Miracles,' 'Happiness,' and both 'Everything Is OK' and 'The Universe Inside' should definitely be made more mainstream so that a wider audience can begin to appreciate this musical genius.

And, on that note, Ben Lee has also announced some US tour dates in support of his new album. He will have a great duo performing with him, including Ryan Dilmore on guitar and Lauren Willow White on keyboards, and plan a fun set of new and old tunes. I suggest you catch one of these shows this summer and catch on to what the rest of the world has finally been aware of: That Ben Lee is a lyrical genius.
