Title - 'Won'
Artist - Leaders In The Clubhouse

The first full album of music from Leaders In The Clubhouse is now out in the stores and online for you all to rush out and buy. Trust me, released June 9th 2015, Won is one of those albums you want, nay need in your music collection as it is chock full of vibrant, melodic and expertly fun storytelling - as every album should be, shouldn't they?

Pioneering the "Fun Rock" genre since 2015 - their words, not ours - the duo consist of Charlie Recksieck (lead singer & principal songwriter) and Spud Davenport (drummer, cartoonist & singer/songwriter). With additional producing skills from Andy Machin, Won is a true gem for all fans of solid, well-rounded music. Embracing some of their own 70's pop influences, such as ELO, Queen, 10cc, the Kinks and more, Leaders In The Clubhouse know what you want and provide it - and some.

Their new album begins with 'She Gets Loud,' ("... like a dirty blonde volcano about to blow"), which is backed by the anti-new technology rant, 'These Goddamn Devices,' 'Hater' ("I don't give a crap that you hate everything, so long as you don't hate me"), and then both the fun pop bounce of 'Law of the Jungle' (which also gives my hometown of Detroit a shout out) and '21/8 Bar Song.'

Listening to the songs and its obvious that both Recksieck and Davenport have had individual success with other bands. Indeed, more than that they are both ASCAP songwriters with music placed in TV shows, independent movies and a major studio film. 'Trophies' is up next, and showcases both their vocals at their finest, with the softer pace of 'Museums' along next.

Leaders In The Clubhouse may be new to the scene (as a band), and yes, they may well be shooting homemade videos to supplement their singles on YouTube (see below), but they ARE here to stay. So get ready to add this and their, one imagines/hopes, soon-to-come sophomore album to your record collections today, because you honestly don't want to be the only one on your block without a copy of it to have your friends listen to ... do you?!
