Released both physically and digitally this past March 10th and 17th via Varese Sarabande, 'Chappie' marks a new avenue explored for the prolific composer, Hans Zimmer. For here on 'Chappie,' Zimmer - who has scored more than 120 films, which have, combined, grossed over 24 billion dollars at the worldwide box office - has brought to the fore the musical compounds that come together to form Elekronik Music!

I know, right, not what you would expect from the great Zimmer, but that said expansion within his art form has always been his forte, that's for sure. So, here on 'Chappie,' the composing maestro dug deep into his own basement to locate, dust off and bring back to life forty-year old analogue synthesizers!

The result is a score that - along with both Steve Hazzard and Andrew Hancznski - brings to life the story of Chappie. Don't know who Chappie is, well, as with every child born into our world, he came into it full of hopes, dreams and looking to enrapture hit's beholden depths of promise. He is gifted, special, a prodigy. And like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings - some good, some bad - and he will reply on his heart and soul to find a way in the world and become his own man.

But, there's one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot! The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and human forever.

And so Zimmer and company have brought together a bounty of old school analogue hits, beats, and twerks to allow the 16 track 'Chappie' soundtrack to come to life. Also inclusive of Andy page, Ed Buller, Michael Tritter, Rich Walters, Junie XL and even someone whistling in certain tracks, 'Chappie' is a group collaboration, with Zimmer at the helm.
