Title - 'From My Heart' (Manhattan Records / EMI)
Artist - Giorgia Famanti
The captivating Italian-born soprano Giorgia Fumanti has one truly beautiful, honest voice, and her wonderful choice of songs (and absolutely charming phrasing) makes this album a must-have for all lovers of, well, ... love! There really isn't anything to not like in this extraordinary CD, in my personal opinion, of course. I first saw (and therein heard) Ms. Fumanti on the Heavenly Voices special on PBS and frankly I was not all that impressed! But this CD is an entirely different deal, please trust me here! Allow me to explain further. 'From My Heart' features four Morricone classic film scores, including themes from The Mission, Cinema Paradiso, and Once Upon a Time in the West. Ms. Fumanti then gives us her translated "Fields of Gold" (Sting) in her stunning acoustic-flavored rendition of "Campi d'Oro." There are more, of course, but this entire album is, simply put, just great Enjoy it, ... I did!
