Title - 'Definitive Greatest Hits' (EMI)
Artist - Al Green

Al Green has one of the most soulful voices of all time and his talent for interpreting other artist's songs and making them his own is simply stunning. But, and with regard this newly-remastered CD, if you are indeed a true Al Green fan then you already own most, if not all, of these songs - if not from the original '75 (LP release) or the '95 CD release! If you will recall, one of the must-own soul albums ever was fattened back in '95 with five extra tracks on the reissue. And yes, this newly-remastered version contains another six (6) more tracks to delight you, but down the line at some stage or another they've all seen the light of day. But, that all said, perhaps you've not heard some of these tracks ('Let's Stay Together,' ' Tired Of Being Alone,' 'Take Me To The River,' 'I'm Still In Love With You,' 'Livin' For You,' and both 'Let's Get Married' and 'L-O-V-E (Love)') and only own the '75 LP and would like to bring yourself up to date re: Al's must-own music collection? If so, then do rush out and buy this '07 version, but know that with no dud's and no filler this CD is not for the hardcore Al Green enthusiast. Moreover, it's for the Al Green window shopper that is looking for one heck of a long musical ride!
