Title - 'Crash: Collector's Edition, Vol. 4'
Artist - Howard Shore

Howe Records is pleased to announce the release of three expanded collector's edition soundtracks celebrating the 35th anniversary, 15-film collaboration between celebrated filmmaker David Cronenberg and Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore.

Here on CRASH: COLLECTOR'S EDITION VOL. 4, it is plainly obvious that Howard Shore's most consistently inventive music grows from his collaborations with David Cronenberg. Ergo, his soundtrack music for 'Crash' is simply second only to 'Naked Lunch' in its combination of beauty and menace.

This cold, spiky music (scored chiefly for an ensemble of electric guitars) will come as a shock to those who know Shore only from his lush, romantic scores for the 'Lord of the Rings' films, and its weird mood will stay with you long after the CD is done playing.

Containing 7 bonus tracks (over 18 minutes of unreleased bonus material), 'Crash' was also the first Cronenberg film to premiere at Cannes. A film that features a brilliant performance from James Spader as James Ballad who is injured in a serious car accident killing the other driver, Shore's score follows his path. Much like Spader doesn't know what his actions could possibly lead to, listening to the score just when you think you're safe; when you think you´ve gotten a grip on what's going on, all of a sudden one little dissonant note springs forth and changes your whole viewpoint.
