Title - 'Inspired By Syd Barrett's Artwork'
Artist - Garden Music Project

Inspired by Syd Barrett's Artwork, this brand new debut album from the Garden Music Project - released on the Ar Garden label - contains 12 songs inspired by the paintings of Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett.

Indeed, this has been released to coincide with the eighth anniversary of Syd Barrett’s passing in 2006. So, for those not in the know, Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett was an English musician, composer, singer, songwriter and painter. As mentioned, he was a founder member of Pink Floyd, and was the lead vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter during the band's early years; providing major musical and stylistic direction in their early compositions.

Funnily enough, he is actually credited with naming the band, but left the group in April 1968 and was briefly hospitalized amid speculation of mental illness exacerbated by drug use. The rest, as they say, is history; sadly.

Anyway, these 12 songs reflect the early artistic concept of Barrett and his immense musical legacy in modern times. Quite how the Garden Music Project came up with these songs to be compatible with his music is beyond me, but they did - and it works. It really works!

Having already been described as "an epic interpretation of Syd Barrett’s paintings using Synesthesia perceptions," (?!) Garden Music Project's first official video clip for the track 'My Ladies' features beautiful model Cami Bargados and guitarist and singer Alexander Ditzend. The video is directed and edited by TV Producer Samanta Pfaffenzeller and as much as this CD doesn't contain any video's you have to check this out online!

Inspired By Syd Barrett's Artwork is, simply put, an inventive album that goes to places that have long since been forgotten by modern music. With all tracks written and composed by Adriana Rubio, Alexander Ditzend (guitars & lead singing), Stefan Ditzend (bass guitar & saxophone), Fabrizio Gamba (keyboards & synthesizers), and Nicolás Saganías (drums & percussion), the Garden Music Project have created a winner here, that's for sure.
